10 Clutter Buster tips for your bedroom

Refer to these tips to support your quality of rest and rejuvenation in the bedroom.

Clutter Buster 1 – Awareness

  • Hold the awareness that your bedroom is a Sacred Place – a place for your amazing body to rest and recharge.

  • Begin with some TLC.

​

Clutter Buster 2 – Focus

  • Start with tidying only.

  • Open the curtains/blinds, let the light shine in.

  • Open a window, let fresh air flow in.

 

Clutter Buster 3 – Practical’s

  • Consider removing the trash bin from your bedroom.

  • Don’t hang washing in your sacred place.

  • If you would like more space maybe find a new home for the laundry basket.

 

Clutter Buster 4 – Floor Space

  • Keep the floor space clear and clean.

  • If a wooden floor, consider a new rug to add softness – your feet will love you for it.

  • Replace old and tattered rugs and carpets. 

 

Clutter Buster 5 – Less is More

  • Remove any and all distractions to the eye.

  • Less is more on surfaces: drawers/dressing tables/ window ledges.

  • Piles on tops of high cupboards looks unsightly and distracting.

 

Clutter Buster 6 – Space under your bed

  • Time to clear any and all clutter lying under your bed.

  • Used as storage space, check if you need to keep everything.

  • Lots can be hidden here, do regular stock take.

 

Clutter Buster 7 – The TV

  • Consider removing the TV. 

  • TV stimulates and can disturb and affect the quality of your sleep which impacts how you feel on rising and your day ahead.

 

Clutter Buster 8 – Old and ‘heavy’ furniture

  • Play with re-organsing furniture if space allows.

  • Remove furniture that serves no purpose or feels 'heavy'.

  • Find a new place for any book cases.

 

Clutter Buster 9 – Your Place of Rest

  • Develop a ritual of making bed every morning.

  • Treat yourself to a new duvet cover.

  • If old consider a new bed. Pillows may need renewing.

 

Clutter Buster 10 – Sacred Space

  • The finishing touches; a scented candle/oil burner, flowers.

  • Enjoy and appreciate the sacred space you have created.

  • Important, do a weekly stock take to maintain your space.
